Serve the community, make a difference in our local food system, and find more opportunities within Feed Iowa First. Our mission to combat food insecurity would not be possible without the generous support of the community. While farming is essential work, it is also hard work. Over 200 volunteers from all walks of life collectively invest thousands of hours of service to make our mission a success.

NEW OPPORTUNITY
Feed Iowa First is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our Weekly Weeding Crew. Every Wednesday from 1–3 PM, we gather at rotating urban garden sites across Cedar Rapids and Marion to support healthy, resilient communities through urban agriculture.

No gardening experience is necessary—just a positive attitude and a willingness to help. Feel free to bring a friend!

Feed Iowa First is always looking for volunteers with specialized skill sets to help support and grow our organization. If you have education and/or experience in farming, nonprofit leadership, fundraising, event management, public relations, volunteer management, or other skills, please reach out.
